Ashfield District Council announces consultation on the Sustainability Scoping Report for Ashfield - 20th December 2019 to 3rd February 2020

 

The Council is inviting comments on the draft Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report for the emerging Ashfield Local Plan from 20th December 2019 to 3rd February 2020.  
The Council has undertaken a review of the Ashfield Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report.  The purpose is:
 

  • To bring up todate the evidence in relation to environmental, social and economic objectives and issues contained in other plans and programmes that are relevant to the Ashfield Local Plan;
  • To provide an up-to-date assessment of the existing broad environmental, social and economic characteristics of Ashfield;
  • In the light of this evidence, to consider key issues and problems that the SA and the Local Plan should address in achieving sustainable development;

 
Based on this information, the Scoping Report sets out the proposed SA Framework to be used to appraise the effects of the Local Plan and any reasonable alternatives.

In addition, to the Regulation consultation bodies, Natural England, Historic England and the Environment Agency, the Council has consulted other key stakeholders and is inviting comments from any interested party.   The Scoping Report made be viewed or a copy obtained on the Council’s website from 20th December at:

Any comments on the Scoping Report should be provided by:

  • Email to localplan@ashfield-dc.gov.uk
  • Sent by post to Forward Planning, Ashfield District Council, Urban Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottingham, NG17 8DA.  

 

All comments, must be in writing and received by the Council on or before 3rd February 2020
